This little thing has a 3090 and a 12th gen I9. I slapped together a mini PC using parts I replaced when upgrading my gaming pc. Look, I hope I am wrong and they continue to support the Quest 2 for years to come. If they release a new headset every 2 to 3 years, you can't split the userbase every time, that's just not going to work out in the long run. It's also not like we are talking console generations here either where you may have to upgrade every 8 to 10 years. It's also not like the majority of Quest games are fully taking advantage of even the Quest 2 hardwareĪnyone saying facebook hasn't been kneecapping their older headsets in favor of the new ones is kidding themselves. We see that with new consoles, we rarely see that with incremental updates, but it happens. If developers, on their own, decide to not support older hardware because it is holding their game back that is a completely different thing and is obviously fine. I understand what you are talking about, and yea that happens with a lot of hardware, but it's extreme with the oculus headsets. Facebook consistently stopped supporting old headsets even with features that have nothing to do with better hardware.
